Our Psychiatric Rehabilitative Program (PRP) for Minors and Adults focus on empowering individuals dealing with mental health challenges. Through personalized support, we aim to enhance daily living skills, social interactions, and personal development. This program is dedicated to fostering resilience, promoting independence, and assisting participants in navigating their journeys towards mental wellness.

Goals and Objectives

The goals and objectives of Positive Steps, LLC’s Psychiatric Rehabilitative Program (PRP) aim to empower individuals to overcome mental health challenges and lead fulfilling lives. By offering comprehensive support, the program focuses on removing barriers to success, enhancing social relationships, and promoting independence through direct skills training. Key interventions are designed to increase clients’ self-respect and provide a collaborative approach to mental health care.

Key Points for Adults:

  • Medication compliance
  • Job-readiness and financial management skills
  • Anger and time management

Key Points for Minors:

  • Activities planning and positive relationship-building
  • Task-oriented skills development
  • Home and activities of daily living management

Both groups benefit from 24/7 crisis support and monthly onsite support groups, among other tailored services to meet their specific needs.

Our services encompass counseling, life skills training, and educational and employment support, tailored to foster personal growth and independence. Counseling addresses mental health challenges, while life skills training focuses on practical abilities for daily living and social interaction. Support with education and employment aims to enhance opportunities for success in academic and work environments, empowering clients to achieve their full potential.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Residency: Services are available to residents of the service area (Baltimore city and surrounding counties).
  • Assessment: All individuals must undergo an initial assessment to ensure the service meets their needs.
  • Age: Individuals under 18 must have parental or guardian consent, where applicable.
  • Diagnosis: Must have a mental health diagnosis from a qualified healthcare provider.
  • Need: Demonstrates a need for support in daily living, social, and coping skills.
  • Commitment: Willingness to participate actively in the rehabilitation process.

Program Duration

The duration of our program is designed with flexibility to cater to the individual needs and progress of each client. While some may benefit from short-term interventions, others might require longer-term support to achieve their personal goals. Our approach ensures that every client receives the right level of care for the right duration, allowing for adjustments based on their evolving needs and successes.
